i'm just not hardcore

i've been reading bunches of lesbian blogs lately and i've come to the realization that i'm just not a hardcore lesbian. don't get me wrong, i love women just as much as the next dyke. that isn't what i mean. what i mean is that i don't give much thought to things like gender/sexuality issues, lesbian activism, the feminist movement, etc. while i do know the ins and outs of strap on usage, i've never "packed". i'm just a girl who loves women, in love with my wifey and trying to get by.

when i read these other blogs i feel almost like a straight person looking in on the lesbian world. so does that make me a clueless lesbian? i know i'm not, at least now when it counts. ;-) but should i put on my pussy power tshirt and go picket somewhere or something?

  1. There are plenty of straight women who are feminists and hardcore activists. I don't think it has anything to do with sexual orientation.

  2. carmie! yay yay yay! so nice to see you!

being a feminist and/or an activist doesn't necessarily have anything to do with orientation. but what had me feeling like a straight girl looking in on a lesbian world was a particular blog i was reading that focuses a lot on gender issues. the author talks about all sorts of gender issues, calls herself a "top" and so on.

those are just things i don't give much thought to which made me wonder if most lesbians do and i'm the only loon out here just trying to get into thair partner's pants and not worrying about much else when it comes to being a lesbian. LOL

  3. I think we are what we are and there will always be the ones whi need to fight for something and the rest of us who are just happy to live.

    I totally want a 'pussy power' t-shirt!!
Even straight chicks can appreciate that!
