this is a copy of an old post from my old blog (efx2 which then became efx2blogs). in the end, the final incarnation (efx2blogs) went down one too many times for me, so i switched to blogger. i was able to recover most of my older stuff (efx2) from archive.org. some smilies, graphics, and/or links may be missing, but you get the idea.

i have so much and nothing to say all at the same time. i had a great weekend. i was feeling better, but the flu-ish, fever-ish, run down feeling is returning with a vengeance. maybe the weekend activity was too much for me.
ben has the lake, i have the keys. every time i need to escape or take a break, i go to the florida keys. this time we went for a combo of my step-daughter's boyfriend's birthday / one last hurrah before wifey's last day as a paid employee. she and i needed a little break too and getting to visit our wedding site again was part of the plan too, which is nice. so, we drove down to key west on saturday, went to the beach, had dinner at the hard rock and shopped till we dropped. we crashed at the hotel and headed back on sunday. a good time was had by all and i got trinkets. i got a new rainbow ring and a t-shit that says "practice safe sex. go fuck yourself" i freaking love it! of course, as always, it was hard to leave. i can envision an alternate me living in the keys, frequenting the little shops on duval street, living the good life. i always feel the pain of the death of the alternate me when i am forced to leave the keys and return to the real world and this trip was no different. regardless of that, going to the keys always makes wifey and i long for gay friends. at present, we have none.
at any rate. in light of our adventure, our budget need a little tweaking, so off i go.
I'm feeling: still sick Listening to: tv (shalom in the home)

Hey, we'll be your gay friends! (Herself and I have that problem too. It's hard to make connections when you are already with someone, and have kids to boot.)

Heiny and I are pretty gay. We'll be your friends too.
Even as a straight married couple we have a hard time finding other couples that we connect with.
...and I would happily share my lake with you if you'd introduce me to the keys

its beautiful! the drive is awesome too. it alternates from going through a key to a bridge leading the the next one to a key to a bridge so you get beach town, open water, beach town, open water. its gorgeous! you should do it some time and give me a shout out when you are down here. i can be your tour guide
